Project Summary
Metallica are one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful heavy metal bands of all time. Despite this, the accessibility of live performance data for fans and data enthusiasts is limited. This project aims to resolve this by curating a data set of Metallica’s entire live performance history, enriched with supplementary data streams that include discography data and geo-coded location data.

Set-lists, dates, venue, tour data and location data for every Metallica gig since 1982 was scraped from Metallica.com
Integrating Secondary Data Sources - Discography
Metallica’s discography was scraped from Metalstorm.net. Discography data was combined with live performance data to add insights and features that were unavailable on Metallica.com
Integrating Secondary Data Sources - Googlemaps API
Location data from Metallica.com was geo-coded using Googlemaps Geo-Coding API, to provide further detail and insights on Metallica’s live performance history
